This is a site of documentary photography and writing about photography.

I am based in Bristol, England, where I teach film production at the University of Bristol. I grew up in South Africa and have particular interests in the legacy of colonialism in Britain and South Africa.

My work is informed by interests in photographic theory, cultural perception and representation, and documentary ethics.

The site offers a brief insight into some of the personal themes and perspectives that animate my photographic work. It includes portraits, landscapes, reportage, images of film production, and some domestic and family pictures.
